Quick pix

First up, here's Brae sleeping in a position that only a young child could manage without first booking a chiropractor.
Yes, there's still a dummy. We've been advised to keep this habit going until well after his op, so it's not a priority.
(notice the figurines lined up on the bed head.. These are quite conversationally grouped, but if it's cars, etc, they have to be ******exactly******* lined up facing forward, perfectly aligned.
More than a touch of autism somewhere in this kid, I still suspect ;-)
...oo0oo...
The next pic was taken in late February, at my niece/best mate's wedding. That's me on the left (10kg heavier than now, yee gods check out the mega-knockers!) clutching Brae who in turn is clutching a bag of Munchos. These were supposed to bribe him into silence during the wedding formalities, but of course he can be heard loudly proclaiming on the video "What dat, Dad? What happen? Why, Dad? Where Mum, Dad? Whatchudooooing?"
Being fairly deaf, he's quite (ahem) loud.
Almost as loud was my sister Launa (far right) shushing him, LOL. Of course it didn't make the slightest bit of difference. It never does ;-)

In the middle of the pic is Chris, the beautiful bride herself, and that nice little bump under her bouquet is Braeden's cousin who is due in August!
I'd post more wedding pix, but Chris hasn't seen this batch herself yet, so that wouldn't be fair.
(Cept she's probably reading this now and saying "That BITCH!". As long as she's laughing while she's loading the rifle, I'll probably escape with minor flesh wounds)

LOL look at that - heaps of news! Fingers crossed Brae gets his op on reschedule - guessing it will make a huge difference.
Judging from your photo and you saying you are 10kg lighter I reckon the horse won't mind if you hopped on, what are you waiting for?
Oooh hop up now, you say? Hmm.. that might be pushing my comfort levels a tad much, never mind the nag's! I wanted to be another 8kg lighter before throwing a leg over. And even that weight would be WELL over the upper limit of what horse hire places will book a horse at.
Grandly hasn't been ridden in four years (when I found out I was expecting The Bubbly I stopped riding), and even then it felt horrible. Couldn't get in the right riding position, felt totally unbalanced, and the worst was the day Grandly (rightfully) shied & startled at a group of squabbling seagulls overhead. Oh I stayed on - somehow the old legs remembered how to slam shut & hang on there, but when I went to dismount about 20mins afterwards, there was no way on this green earth my leg would come up over his back. In the finish it was either fall off (just as well I didn't, I was pregnant & didn't yet know it), or undignifiededly slop slide slather wriggle fart and fall the last three feet.
Then we have to add in the teensy fact that I totally lost my riding nerve for about 10 years prior to riding in early 2005. My cavalcade-bound mate will testify that it literally took YEARS to convince me to try to mount up. I would tack up, approach the horse, and literally freeze solid in a trembling mess.
But yeah, I can see you have a good point. Best to start work on getting back in the saddle now, because it might take a little while to recover my previous fearlessness.
Yeah, roll on the op :-) With a lot of help from the Early Intervention teachers, we've got Brae at least trying to talk, but only we can understand him most of the time, and at least 20% of the time not even WE can! He's got a cutely husky voice, almost whiskey flavoured. I wonder if that will change?
LOL
I know what it all feels like believe me. In fact I put husband up on the old girl before I went near her, figured he could fall off first if she was going to do something untoward.
Then I went through ages of walking before I dared ask her to trot. LOL. Slowly but surely does it, I reckon Grandly is up to a walk...
I shouldn't tell you this, Wino, but I tried my biggest pair of joddhies on and they fit! A teensy bit snug (and not the Stickybums, more the pity) but definitely ride-worthy without splitting a seam at the first hint of a raised leg.
Wayne helpfully pointed out that joddhies show every hint of cellulite. Strangely, he still lives.
