Dad's birthday, but we got the presents!

Happy birthday to Wayne, who turned 44 last week :-)

We went shopping yesterday to spend his birthday vouchers, and also to give Mum & Baby some much needed time out of the house.

Oh, yes.. I do get out & about with kidlet by myself, but he can be a real handful to manage solo for more than a quickie trip, so any decent outings need to have both slaves (uh, parents) on tap.

Just as well there were two of us - Braeden decided to have a moment that lasted the entire day and much of the night. By the time we all fell into bed exhausted at 9.30pm (ie when kidlet finally decided to unwind and sleep), we'd missed our dinner and had barely snatched at lunch in the late afternoon. Baby, on the other hand, had had lots of naps in the car, had as much food as he wanted, plenty of cuddles and interesting things, but not a grizzle of gratitude passed his lips ;-)

It must have been hard work being Brat Baby, because he slept clear through to 3.50am, allowing his ecstatic mother nearly six hours of sleep!!!

Today bubba is mismanaging his father by holding on to every burp like it's precious gold, but dishing out the spews like nobody's business. This has made for many clothing changes, both for Dad and Baby (and both moan their asses off when they're made to get changed.. sheesh.. anyone would think THEY were the ones doing the washing!!)

Anyhoo, we went to the most recent local Plunket sale yesterday, but unfortunately it wasn't nearly as productive as the one earlier this year. Maybe the advertising wasn't sufficient this time? I hoped to go mad on the clothing (esp bigger sizes!) but the pickings were incredibly slim. We did get some good toys and a very nice portacot, so it was worth going :-) Let's hope the autumn sale is more helpful.

Then it was off into town to spend Dad's vouchers, and he did manage to spend a little on himself (a new gas bottle for the BBQ.. gee!) but after a few hours of lugging an eleven and a half pound baby around in our arms, we decided the time had come to buy a buggy. We *were* going to source one through Trade Me, but tired arms make for impatient parents!

Yeah.. something more portable that we can use on the farm too, wahoo!

Found a goodie on special ($100 off), and home it came. I can't wait to get out & about with the beloved tyrant and walk off some more blubber.

Better go relieve the exhausted Dad and put him in charge of dishing up lunch, tee hee!
